I trust that explains the "statistical anomaly". It's not even a survey, it's just getting people to support a petition. Given that the Express describes it as a 'Crusade'

I wonder if they remember that the Crusades were pan-European events uniting kings and commoners from all over Christendom?

What one must ask is, why won't the politicians give us a referendum on coming out or staying in?
It couldn't be that they may get the answer they don't want, could it?
Interesting, on the radio they were asking given the chance of us being a state in the United States of Europe or being the 51st State of the USA, which would you choose?
If we came out of Europe and became a independent nation like Norway and Switzerland, would it be all bad, because these two nations seem to manage.

Norway is a small economy, Switzerland is also small with unique strengths in banking due to its geography/history.
We are still one of the biggest economies on earth with 60 million people to sustain and few natural resources so trade has been vital for at least 400 years. Currently our membership of the union not only provides accessible markets but also attracts foreign manufacturers who also want to access european markets.
1. How many cars or components for Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Honda etc would be made here if we pulled out of europe?
2. As so many wars in the past 1000 years have been/started between european states, is a recurrence more or less likely if we become independent?

There is a campaign for a referendum on facebook. Cameron promised one before making it to PM but as usual, another broken promise. http://www.eureferend...erendum_Campaign.html

I doubt if it would make any difference . Manufacturers go where it is best for their pockets not because we are in the EU. Most vehicle parts are made in Asia and those made here are largely to feed the home market.
Blair, Cameron and Clegg are pro Europe . Even if the Expess poll did represent the population as a whole that trio would do their best to scupper it.
I wonder what the Irish think about their membership now . They won't be asked.
