My original report was based on a Guardian news story.

He loves the attention vibes... i suggest a boycot!
"I have been given a 'Bad Name' by some and it has stuck"

I would suggest that you look in the mirror before you start throwing accusatins around.
Accusations
Surely you picked your own name:

old /oʊld/

adjective

far advanced in the years of one's or its life: an old man; an old horse; an old tree.

git (ɡɪt)

— n
1. a contemptible person, often a fool
2. a bastard

Seem fair descriptions to me.

What an interesting story...does this somehow suggest that race laws cover White people???

I was always lead to believe that race legislation was completely one-sided, and that "only White people can be racist" (quoting from a recent thread here).

Odd that the original thread was removed. I would've thought that if someone had posted something which broke the Site Rules, just that posting would be deleted.

Strange.
I have a really nasty suspicion about this story.

You know what? I reckon the teacher in question, Jane Turner...is White herself.

The story would have MUCH greater 'punch' if the teacher was black or Asian. Te only reason I can think that they haven't printed a picture would be because she herself is White.

That would be beyond hilarious (especially reading some of the responses to the story).

/// you say you are not racist but everyday I see a thread from you that stirs it up.///

One could say "racism is only in those who want to see racism".

This is the News section, and I post on all controversial issues to stimulate debate, or are you saying that no one should post on a story if it contains racial matters?

Perhaps we should start up a list on what subjects ABers should not raise?

I do not post lies, I only report on issues I have seen raised by the media at large.

Most of my questions attract many answers, perhaps that is the reason for my unpopularity, jealously? Perhaps that is why such people suggest a boycott of my questions, one has to query this type of reasoning.

All I can say if one wants to read post upon post on such subjects as "My cat awoke with a cough this morning" which may attract 3 answers at the most, then may I suggest one gets off the News Topic Section.

Happy reading.
AOG.....;-)

The sound of the heated debate fades slightly and the camera pans slowly round to the narrator who is saying, in slow, solomn, measured words "And so ladies and gentlemen, the story repeats itself for the thousandth time and the circle of life goes on....and on....and on.....and on......"
hi5 to AOG - he's got balls :)

I know this is the pantomime season, but I do not possess a mirror such as the one in Snow White, mine only reflects images..
Yes and the neighbours' kids want them back.

I picked this username when I was obviously new to AB and thought it rather fitted in with the general spirit of AB's news section, a place where one could have a good moan and also take a humorous reflection on the world, much as the Old Gits TV show.

But it is now mainly taken over by rather non humorous, political correct and sniping individuals, that will go to any lengths (even to bisecting one's username) to try and belittle a fellow ABer, all this just because they dare post what is alien to their own agenda.

If we had a country full of these types of individuals, I would have long ago been lynched from the nearest tree, thank goodness at lest we still live in a free society, which is completely alien to some on here.

if you want to avoid people

<<bisecting one's username to try and belittle a fellow ABer>>

perhaps you shouldn't introduce ideas such as:

<<I have been given a 'Bad Name'>>

LOL

I doubt very much sp if the teacher was white, hardly likely to be charge with a race crime if she had the same coloured skin.

/// A teacher who was convicted of a race crime after calling
a youth 'white trash' ///

In fact the original Guardian story said she was black.

Funny though as much as I have searched I can't find this report or the Telegraph's report, the only one remaining report seems to be the Mail's.
