Regardless of what they thought of the wars, these two councillors should have been polite enough to stand , not for what is happening out in Iraq and Afghanistan, but because of this chaps personal courage in saving his comrades at personal risk to himself.

We don't want councillors and such, who only want to convey their own particular agenda.

Rather than wait until their constituents vote them out, they should be sacked immediately

Hahaha ...and their party is called RESPECT. lol
sacked for not taking part in a standing ovation? Are such ovations mandatory now? I thought that was only at the opera.
they are scum and traitors, they only got elected because they are in areas that have already been taken over by muslims.
we need people like this out of our country, because no matter what, they will do everything they can to turn this into a muslim state if given a chance
Wow - they're not only racists but traitors.

Wonders will never cease.

Utterly brilliant. This is like a sitcom (one of those bad sitcoms that you see on BBC3 when you meant to actually tape the new David Attenborough documentary on BBC4).
I had a long, erudite, well thought out argument about the actions of the two people involved here that I was going to delight and astound everybody with, and everybody would be saying "ooh flip_flop, you're so wonderful" and the (good looking) female ABers would be wanting to have congress with me, and then I woke up this morning and thought, sod it - I can't be arsed, so have boiled it down to just three words, which will probable be banned, but here goes.

They are Lady Vegetables
Can you tell its Friday????
In general Muslims in Britain have no allegience to this country. When they are hopping into Britain in the backs of lorries they are not primarily concerned with improving life for all its citizens but how they can make a fast buck. The wars in Muslim countries cannot entered their minds as they would not have bothered to come here in the first place. If they do hold these inner feelings they should all be encouraged to get out!
I have the feeling Naomi24 is itching to get involved in this one - what with words like Muslims, Taleban, traitors, scum and the like being banded about. As a mark of respect,(no pun intended) they could have stood to acknowledge the soldiers willingness to put his life on the line for others (isn't this what the suicide bombers do?) but they did not have to applaud. They also need to rename their party IMO
Everybody has a democratic right to express how they feel(or don't feel).
If this doesn't break the law then I don't see the problem.
It may be distatesful to many (me included) BUT there are many other things I feel the same way about that wouldn't get any response on AB,so I shut up about hem.
