Mobius by the way was the first to use modern ( ie invented ) vector notation.. using bold type or underlining. around 1860 I think

A couple of limericks about Möbius bands:
(I have changed the wording of the first, since I cannot accept that "half" rhymes with "laugh")

A mathematician confided
That a Möbius band is one-sided.
It presents quite a riddle
When it's cut down the middle:
It remains on one piece, undivided.

Although it appears somewhat kinked,
A Möbius band is distinct.
You'll be lost for words
If you cut it in thirds:
You end up with two bands, interlinked.

A möbius strip only has one surface so you can't cross it. Well, that's the pretext of the joke but, whilst it has only one surface it does have two edges so, in theory, it would actually be possible to cross it from one edge to the other.
