Went for an eye test today and decided to buy some new frames.Problem was I felt a bit rushed and ended up choosing a pair I wasn't quite sure of.Now the more I think about them, the more I'm convincing myself I chose wrongly. Is it too late if I phone them in the morning to ask if I can come and choose another pair or do you think they will have been made to my prescription already? Do we have rights about changing our minds on things like this? x

It took about a week for my most recent reading glasses to be ready for pick up, so you may well not be too late to change them.
Where did you buy them from? I doubt they would have started to make them yet.
Not sure about all, Barsel...but I'm pretty sure Tesco and Specsavers give you so many days to cancel your order...have a google about to find the one you bought from....x

Hi chrissa1 I ordered them from Specsavers. SirAlec, they're not for reading, but for distance but the girl said they do them on the premises as they have a lab upstairs.Just wondered if you get any time to change your mind on this. x

Hi gness, didn't think I could find out by googling but will have a look.Hope you are keeping well.x
Ring them, first thing. I can't think they can work that, quick. Let us know what happens.
Just had a quick look at Specsavers cancellation policy, Barsel.....you should be fine but do check.....

I'm well thanks...x

Just googled and found this.

“We want you to be completely happy with your purchase at Specsavers. If you have any concerns within three months of the date of purchase, we will put it right. No quibble, no fuss.”
Your statutory rights are not affected. Please ask in store for full details.

Ah well, will give them a call in the morning. Thanks all x
Should be fine then.....let us know....x

Will do. x
My Mum did the same as you Barsel and phoned first thing the following morning and had the order cancelled. She had been for an eye test and felt a bit rushed into choosing new glasses there and then when in fact she wanted to shop around and think about it for a bit first. They cancelled it with no quibbles.

Don't feel obliged to buy new frames at the same place or on the same day as your test, you can take the prescription anywhere for new glasses.

Thanks Maydup, That's reassuring x

Just to let you know I phoned Specsavers this morning and was told the order had been placed but the girl said she would phone the technician and tell him not to fit the lenses, although she didn't seem best pleased.x
"She didn't sound best pleased????"

These shop assistants are there to do their best for the customer. What a cheek!!
Cheek indeed! She needs to read their cancellation policy and she won't be doing the company any favours by putting customers off.....
Still, as long as you're happy....you don't want something you're miserable with perched on your nose.....worse than a boil......☺
you will have to show us what the new specs look like ;)

Steampunk is very fashionable ;o)

There is a small firm in my town which makes specs for the trade but who also sell to the general public. I took my last prescription there and paid £40 for frames for which the optician was going to charge £200.
Baldric...my dad had some a bit like that when I was a child..I played for hours with them.....well, poor kid, no toys..... :-(
I quite like them...they'd go with my posh outfits a treat.....☺

I'm buying my specs online now......so much cheaper....x
Baldric: I'd look like a lobster wearing them after only a few hours TIG'ing away!
