Ditto. Who can say? These sort of people do not think of a reason not to do something that may strike them as 'clever' at the time.
Education has failed and we can't exterminate them, so we just have to put up with these idiocies.
I don't think (I hope at least) this was targeted at Paul specifically but we are breeding a nation of completely undisciplined feral humans. I live in a comparatively quiet and low crime area of Dorset but this kind of thing goes on all the time. A new park bench goes in - vandalised within a week, new small play area refurbished, vandalised within a week. I know all ABers aoffspring are perfect, mine included, but most of the culprits of this mindless behaviour are young people.
Presumably the government's fault I'll be told at some point.
I saw that the other day. I'm hoping it's *just* stupid kids who don't know any better. Even so, I still despair.

Everything is apparently government's fault nowadays Prudie!! We live in a a quiet low crime area too, but of course it still gets its share of feral kids.
"... but, ultimately and unfortunately, this is part of the nature of the street art and mural scene."

Some say it's all vandalism.
I agree with Prudie. I am so glad I am at this end of my life rather than the younger end
Chris Moore thinks it should be moved to Battersea Dogs Home, which is fine by me as I never go there.

I don't think it's just vandalising graffiti. It's quite evenly spaced, curved and angled. I'm think someone is trying to send their own message. Don't know what though.
Attention seekers, homophobes, people who think it is amusing, grafitti artists who think their tags are just as valid as the mural - a long list of possibilities
clever Jourdain or funny
like we used to add moustache to pictures of the Queen - my auld Dad used to go mad

BUT this looks like the beginning of a 'tag' - paint thing that fulfils the same function as a dog marking
which was disturbed
Why?

Because the Police and Courts dont take this sort of low level crime seriously.

Looking at it very unlikely to be aimed at Paul but more like some low life that isnt even aware who he is or that he is dead.
Don't know what though.
unfinished, interrpted tag I think, Clar'
Yes, it's a tag. Can we paint what we like on the sides of our houses? No permission from the council needed?
Not this incident specifically but I think the threat of birching for low level crime rather than an ASBO/community sentence would be a good deterrent.

Won't happen. My 2 cents.
With you there davebro.
Corporal punishment didn't stop crime, for some it was a badge of honour.
I would question the motives of anyone willing to birch a stranger in cold blood
At school the cane (administered only by the headmaster - and yes his motives were questionable) did act as a deterrent & the few who got it certainly didn't glean any honour.
At my school it was always the same kids getting the cane, the ruler, the clip round the ear, the detention - it didn't seem to deter them.
but did it deter those who didn't get it from acting up? who knows
yeah we got kicked, ears pulled
and we just made sure we did it not in the sight of a master

someone else said - that is nothing- we were pulled across the classroom by our hair !
I regret that some boys got beaten more than others- were they bad boys, or .... the master got off on beating THEM ?
even at age eight we wondered
