What is the meaning of "break the bank" in the following sentences?

 

They had Ray on video, he was certain, same as everybody else. Casino surveillance was extensive; he knew that from his two bright pals who'd planned to break the bank at the craps table.

to break the bank is the English equivalent of "faire sauter la banque" which means, in French, that the player takes all the money that has been set into play by the Casino (the banker)

Fortunately there is no sound on this site, or you might hear some of us old'uns breaking into 'The man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo'.
