My Granny said, "There's corn in Egypt yet." Anyone heard it used?

carrot99 ... spot on 'methinks'. Not looked up Exodus, but seem to remember it being credited to Moses - leading The Israelites through the Red Sea. I think it also featured in "Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat". But that's the same story, almost! Mentioned it before "When the Legend becomes the Truth; Believe the Legend' !!

Calling people 'yolks'
My nan was the source of all the strange phrases.
If she saw someone she thought was attention seeking she'd say, she'd be in if she fell in.
Twofeathers we are from Manchester. I don't know what that really signified except wait and see I suppose.
In that case (I'd be in if I fell in) Not attention seeking just lonely!
If anybody knows (Its a strange turn of phrase) and i would be interested to know?
Another one she had. If I said it isn't fair, she would say, what isn't sh12 from China! Don't know where that came from.
Not a family phrase but my father in law was very bandy legged. When my mother first met him she said.......Jeez....he wouldn't stop a pig in an entry would he?
