Anyone know any useful french slang? I'm thinking along the lines like 'copain' (instead of ami), mamon (mum -instead of mother (I think that's right) + other more informal.

Basically any interesting phrases that I wouldn't find in my course work. Cheers.

les flics = police

pote = buddy

vache! = damn! (lit: cow)

c'est du vol organise = what a rip-off (especially useful in Paris)

this is good

It's 'maman' by the way, not 'mamom'
Sorry, meant to type 'not mamon'
Our teacher always plugged "je parle francais comme un vache espangole" which literally is "I speak French like a Spanish cow", but means I speak really bad French......not sure if that's the politically correct thing you'd need or want! Plus it was our teacher that told us the phrase.....
