Is there more? A question at the end? How many animals?
And you haven’t even posted the whole question! ;-)
A rabbit saw 6 elephants while going to the river. Every elephant saw 2 monkeys going to the river. Every monkey has 1 parrot each. How many of the animals went to the river?
Me.
Five
1 rabbit + 2 monkeys (assuming they all saw the same two) + 2 parrots.
This assumes the elephants weren't going to the river
This must be doing the rounds,I saw it on Facebook earlier.
The link is a different question to the one on the OP. I doubt any of them went to school. Now had you seen dolphins...
The link says,

"One rabbit saw six elephants while going to the river.
Every elephant saw two monkeys going towards the river.
Every monkey holds one parrot in their hands.

How many “animals” are going towards the river ?"

Different number and different phrasing.
As I was going to Saint Ives
I met a man with seven wives
Each wife had seven sacks
Each sack had seven cats
Each cat had seven kits
Kits cats sacks and wives
How many going to Saint Ives
One rabbit saw six elephants while going to the river.
Every elephant saw two monkeys going towards the river.
Every monkey holds one parrot in their hands.

How many “animals” are going towards the river ?

different destination too, TCL: no school.

Sorry CorbyLoon
The answer could be four since the two monkeys could be holding the one parrot between them.
That's the same as the link at 10:46...
The missing out of 'while' in the OP makes all the difference....
I think who 'went to school' means who of us can answer it, nothing to do with the wording of the riddle.
The last line of the riddle would have helped though :)
