Why not just 'planning'?

Are there situations where post-planning and backward planning are possible?

You make a good point but I'd have interpreted all the above as simply preparation rather than actual planning.

Well maybe not. Perhaps advance is planning far ahead. Forward just sounds a superfluous part of a phrase.

Backward planning involves knowing the date something is to happen and then working in reverse to establish the latest date by which the work has to begin in order to have it completed by the required date.

No. In Korea it's considered very bad form to pan-fry the dog.

At one meeting I was at, someone made a suggestion and the person leading the meeting said it would be, "put in the fridge"...

Not sure if that meant the suggestion was to be kept fresh and looked at later or to be hidden in the back until it went off and was binned.

A great way to liven up a boring meeting us to play 'meetings bingo'.

Each person (except the big boss leading the meeting) has a bingo card.

On it is a whole variety of management speak phrases, eg
Think outside the box
Take ownership of
Blue sky thinking
Low hanging fruit
Helicopter view

Each time a phrase is used, delegates cross it off if it is on their card.

The first person to cross off all the phrases on their card has to stand up and shout bingo.

The big boss might or might not be amused
