Shaun greenhalgh faked this statue and made a mistake in the hieroglyphic spotted latterly by the Br Museum. Very good prog tv on this - Antiques Fraud Show. Policewoman says " o look a spare amarna goddess in the wardrobe just in case you lose the first one!"
homeland - they got immigrants to spray arab graffiti on a set - and someone amusingly put - "this is nothing like the real thing!"
and finally Gerald Browne( now dead) a leading epigraphist ( what-ferist?), according to Oei ( yeah he really exists) forged documents in erm Mediaeval Nubian, published learned articles in the names of his soft toys and may have made up a language ! ( now decd by suicide) (*)

(*) eagle eyed Oei ( yup really) spotted a Nubian document on ebay ( no really) and thought - "that has been written up!" He bought it. It was forged and had come up on the market as far as I can see because the contents of the dead mans flat was emptied and then put on ebay. It was one of the things written by a soft toy.
