Slightly off topic but, it breaks my heart watching my daughters struggling against the odds to keep a roof over their heads and bring up the children, times are very hard and while we do what we can to help sometimes you feel that without the goverment and our glorious leaders recognising the enormous problems ordinary people are up against every day it is a battle we can't win.  I see Starmer in France meeting Zelensky  and promising that don't worry we will always find the money to send you more missiles, then flies away to promise that we will always find the billions needed for pursuing the crazy ' green dream'  Why can't someone in power say, let's try and help the people that we get paid to help!  It explains why Trump has had such a sweeping success,  he has actually said, you know what I am going to put America and American people first.

No, but thats Marxists & Communists for you TTT.

What about Jim Hacker? He was a bit clueless wasn't he? 😄 😄

Very good points there barney4444.  I don't mind helping out others but the government need to take care of their own first.

One can not reasonably say one will fund either national or global necessities but not both.

Evil expansionist empires need opposing (preferably on someone else's turf) or we line up greater threats for ourselves in the future.

The same goes for climate change, although it's clear we have done all we reasonably can and things are now down to nations who aren't bothering.

While many need help nationally it's fair to point out we already have a decent welfare system, although all systems are subject to improvement opportunities. And if the State is more generous then the number claiming they need more simply grows. So it is unlikely ever to be sorted.

It's balance with resources we need, not ignoring urgent issues until they become unrepairable.

Bang on barney, I'm a Tory but I'm equally peaced off with them too. We spend Billions on foriegn aid etc. Don't get me started on the net zero economic suicide. We cannot seem to stop a hostile foriegn invasion in fact we assist it. Our own people suffer during all of this so politcicians can strut about showing their plummage. If someone did a Trump in this country I think it would get support. MUGA!

TTT.  Isn't this what Farage is all about?

Reform will be getting my vote in the upcoming Welsh elections, talking to people I am starting to think that they will actually do well, time to get off the fence I think, things have to change..

Question Author

gramps/barney - yes I think Farage is heading that way but he'll need to infiltrate the Conservatives and purge the Trobiscites. He won't be able to do it from Reform. Though he is a master at getting other entities to change from outside them. He delivered brexit without ever entering parliament.

Well done for recycling leftover crap, saves creating more.

Dignitas doesn't get around the problem:

Members who wish to end their life must be able to prove they are of sound mind, as determined by the organization; be themselves able to bring about death

Wrong thread, apologies

I think he's been promoted way beyond his capabilities and is seriously out of his depth.

For the last 10 yrs or so I have voted Conservative and before that it was Labour, never imagined that I would ever be drawn towards voting for more extreme party's like Reform, but out of his depth or not at least at least Farage is saying enough is enough we got to get a grip on immigration etc, may as well have him in charge as Starmer or Badenoch, can't be any worse than this, I always thought when you in a hole you stop digging! but Labour ain't ever heard that.

I don't think Farage is out of his depth - but Starmer is floundering and that's no surprise.  He was never up to the job.

10 ClarionSt at 8.10.Sir Arnold suggested that Jim Hacker could be "professionally guided."
