"Love is a friendship set on fire." It would be great if someone could translate that to Latin for me!

'Ardens' is fiery so QM's phrase is better translated as "love is fiery (ardent) friendship". I think "Love is friendship set on fire" needs to be passive so
my stab at it is "Amor amicitia ardentus est" however, it is 32 years since I took my Latin O level so I might be a bit rusty.

It's a sight longer since I took mine, Maxi! The Oxford Latin Dictionary translates 'ardens' as 'ablaze', which seems close enough to 'set on fire' to me. "Love is friendship ablaze" seems OK, but I really shouldn't disagree with someone whose experience in the language is so much more recent than mine! (That's a joke, by the way.) Cheers
