Am I even spelling it correctly?
As far as I am led to believe, it means "Evil be to he who evil thinks!" but I have no idea as to the origin.

I guess it may be latin and the translation may be off somewhat but I think the meaning is accurate.
I always thought it meant that if I said something slightly ambiguous and whoever I was talking to took the "rude" definition, it said more about them than it did about me...

ie: If I said" I watched a DVD last night with a box of tissues next to me" there might be two ways you could take that. If you chose the seedier route then it was because you were already corrupt!
(admit it, you already did!)

A simple case of "Honi soir que maly pense!" yes?
Or am I barking up the proverbial?

Honi soit qui mal y pense is French for "Shame on him who thinks this evil" It appears on a garter which surrounds the shield on the Royal Coat of Arms. This garter symbolises the Order of the Garter, an ancient order of knighthood of which the Queen is sovereign. Something to do with a maid at court who dropped her garter and the King picked it up and put it on his own leg to cover her shame and then uttered those famous words.
