The phrase also recalls Polonius's advice to Laertes in Hamlet; "This above all: to thine ownself be true/And it must follow, as the night the day/Thou canst not then be false to any man"

And the Braw - it's cos I believe in positive thinking and unconditional positive regard for myself ...... conveniently negating all the not so braw bits!!!
