I once met a French bloke who said something to me in French and then he said it translated to, "Do you take my arse for a chicken"

Is this a well known French insult, or am I just a simple fool?

It's a real expression Kingy; in French it goes : " Et mon cul, c'est du poulet?"
It means that you think you are being told lies, or that what someone is telling you is grossly exaggerated. For example, if someone is telling you a ring is gold when it's obviously cheap metal. A bit like " yeah, right! "
Wicked, I'll try that one on my froggy boyfriend!
