where does the phrase "who's she the cat's mother" come from?

The phrase may well be followed up with the words - Hello I'm here, I do have a name you know!
i say "she's the cats mother" not "who's she the cats mother ?"
interesting.
I always thought that this saying meant "Who dose she think she is" as in as important as the cat's mother or "Queen" Female mother cats are known as queens!
Although I have also heard it used in the same context as Thunderbird.
