What can be classed as a HETERONYM

I am trying to compile a study of words that have the same written word, but means something completely different i.e. I will book seats at the cinema, I bought a book etc

Blimey, there must be thousands of these, but I'm sure that in the english language the one that has the most meanings is set with something like 36.

Heteronyms are words with the same spelling but different meanings and pronunciations, so 'book' in your example doesn't qualify, since it is pronounced the same in each case. Click http://www-personal.umich.edu/~cellis/heteronym.ht

If you are interested in the English language, you should learn to distinguish between "i.e." (id est - that is), which is used before a specific example that explains what you have just written, and "e.g." (exempli gratia - for the sake of example), which is used to give one (or possibly more than one) example of what you have just written. In your question you should have used "e.g.". Don't worry, though, it is a very common mistake, unfortunately.
