I've seen the phrase "Skidoo 23" in a book called "Th Illuminatus Trilogy" by Robert Anton Smith/Robert Shea and also heard Marge Simpson say it in an episode of the Simpsons. Has anybody any idea where it came from?
The phrase grew out of the cops' practice of rousting young guys who would gather outside New York's Flatiron Building. The swirling winds at 23rd and Fifth Ave at Broadway would lift the skirts of ladies who passed by. So the cops at 23rd would tell the guys to "skidoo."
