A couple of years ago you couldn't go anywhere without hearing Underworld's haunting tune. The lyrics of the song here, whilst being a series of non sequiturs and alluring to Teenage Angst, tell a loose story of a lad who takes drugs, drinks alcohol and has casual sexual encounters then goes home to mum and dad who have no idea what he has been up to. The idea is that he is able to enjoy the illicit escapades yet retain an innocent appearance. He is slippery, in the sense that none of the naughtiness sticks to him and he is able to slide effortlessly between the two worlds.

The title uses the word "slippy" which, rather than meaning difficult to grasp due to a slimy surface, is used to mean spry, sharp, quick or alert.

Underworld are big greyhound racing fans and took several songtitles, including this one, from the names of racing dogs. It's a pretty good name for a greyhound as it happens, I reckon.
