Does anyone use the I as a Y? I dont but my inlaws insists its pronounced LYDLE!

If your talking about the shop then there is no "e" at the end and as it's a german word it's pronounced "Lee-del".
And to the Great British public it generally rhymes with 'fiddle'.

Oops my excuse the spelling re Lidl.So now I can tell my inlaws its rhymes with" Needle! Thanks guys.
