The answer is nothing, although i particular disagree with parts of the riddle. The poor has nothing, the rich need nothing? I strongly disagree and would like to see that replaced with something else that will work. I am poor and I have lots, I know lots of rich people that need to give their head a shake. that's just my opinion, I could be wrong
ok for those of you who dont know the riddle is "What is greater than God, more evil than the devil, the poor have it, the rich need, it, and if you eat it you will die?" i think that it might be LOVE its greater then god (no affence) and its more evil than the Devil ( it plays with you and when you break up it torments you for ever) The Poor have it and the Ritch want it because aside from money it cant buy you everything as for is you eat it you will die well thats up to your imagination on how that works im not really sure but it fits everywhere else! Thanks for reading!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the riddler wants us to say the answer is nothing, but that would mean i have to agree with the 17% Standford geeks... and that's just 1 too many % of them... I would say the exact opposite... I think the real answere is EVERYTHING. Since there is no such thing as God, Everything is greater than God... Since there is no such thing as the Devil, Everything has to be more evil than the Devil... Since the poor do exist; they must have Everything they need to exist... Since the rich by definition of rich, they must need Everthing to be rich... And if you eat Everything, you'll surely die (faster than eating nothing!)...
dude...people! lighten up!!! it's just a riddle....you know, like a joke...it doesn't need to be changed....riddles are supposed to be like that....otherwise the answers could very.....like : "What is greater than a grande cappuccino topped with cinnamon" ....the answer to that for ME, would be "anything" or ice cream, etc...... So just accept riddles as they are, as though they are people, and don't try to change them. by the way: When asked this riddle, 80% of kindergarten kids got the answer, compared to 17% of Stanford University seniors.
