Would you like to share your favourite ever post or comment of Whiffey's? I didn't know him as well as most of you, but I really liked his acerbic wit. He once answered a question Pasta posted about fragrance, and I thought he was joking - in fact he was being serious ! He said he wore Rive Gauche, and I didn't realise that it came in the Gents' version, so I teased him. When I realised that I'd made a mistake, I apologised. He responded by saying that he preferred the ladies' version anyway, as the Gents' was too poofy ! That was one of my faves.

I just loved the fact that for years no one knew if he was male or female.

When I spoke to him on the phone he made me promise I wouldn't reveal his sex. So sometimes I'd refer to him as a she and sometimes as a he.

I'm gonna miss him :-(

Clique 'A' has signed in - please stand over there on the left, I thank you!

Clique 'B' when you have finished in the showers, could you form an orderly line over there, opposite clique 'A' and the woman with the strange hairdo.

I have the crisps and ice cream, settle back for one of those most gripping and least invidious of threads: "Which four ABers would you most like to be stuck naked in a lift with ?"

lol
Me and Pixi used to enjoy putting "who wants a brew?" post up years ago, it used to drive him up the wall endless posts about tea and coffee.

Fun times!
I just wrote a long response and lost everything.

Whiffey was hilarious with his wicked sense of humour. And all jokes aside, he knew the bible beginning to end and would argue and challenge anyone with it. He enjoyed correcting and pointing out the meaning of lose and loose. He loved AB. You'll be remembered by many of us on here, Whiffs. RIP
My sister joined this site years ago. She asked me who Whiffey was. When I asked her why she said that he was too intelligent to argue with...
He loved to tease my by saying "hi society"

Hi Dot, Boo xx
Hey Society, good to see you :-)

And yes, lol at the 'lose' and 'loose'.

He asked me only recently if I'd like to swap a bottle of his hot chilli sauce, for a bottle of my mother's homemade version. I told him I'd get my mother's recipe, but I never got round to it. I wish I had now.
There are lots of witty and funny comments from him , he had a wicked sense of humour , and , as I said already , he was very nice to me and I will miss him .
The thing I remember him for, apaprt from his dry wit, was the fact he knew every word of most of Gerry Rafferty songs, "Its so easy to talk"
He got me on the "lose" and "loose" thing lol

It took me a while to "get" Whiffey but once i did, he never failed to make me laugh.

R.I.P ab won't the the same without ya Whiffey. :-(
I loved The Russian...in all "her" guises. I am almost positive it was him. He was hilarious. I loved all his posts and retorts, he made me smile.
Hi No,
I turned the lap top on this morning to get some timetable info & briefly went on here. How can a stranger you only pass words with make you cry? But I did. I will miss him x
Anyone feeling very flat with this news? So sad.

I must admit I do feel quite down.
How fragile we all are. The last thread I recall him on we were talking about traditional puds 'spotted dick' He really did make me laugh! x
