I'm embarrassed to say there's a few on this thread i've misused.Learn every day so they say -i'm not saying which ones lol
when peopl confuse similar words - and refuse to be told

such as scrim and scrimp
scran and scram
muslim and muslin


voluMptuous is another common one
enviroment vs environment
goverment vs government
'May be' in place of 'maybe'.

And commas, stuck in, all over the place, wherever my boss who should know better, thinks there should be a break, in the sentence.

I would of, instead of I would have - in fact, of used instead of have in many expressions

At the school I taught at, the P.E. department had a drawer of their filing cabinet labelled "P.E. Stationary". That certainly seemed to be a new educational approach to me ;-)
The Pri Minister (the BBC newsreaders are fond of that one)

This misuse of reflexive pronouns has increased dramatically over the last few years, especially in business correspondence, where it appears to be considered as somehow more "professional" English...
I get annoyed when people don't know the difference between 'licence' and 'license' (or 'practice' and 'practise', etc).
