Hello EV N&C Wine Clubbers,
Well this week was a perfect example of how you should really read the rubric to ensure you enter the answers appropriately! I didn't and suffered badly with 2 of our bridge players!
I am staring at a completed grid, but have yet to come up trumps with the 16 letter indication of the suit! I thought there was some difficult cluing this week, resulting in some words that were alien to me!
Time for a preprandial Jamesons!

"Square of Tartan in seat lackin_ support.
Fly-trap without edges in_olved web spinning."
Very disconcerting when there are also mistakes with the alphabetical order of solutions to clues. Also
"Concerning opening regularly ObTaInAbLe"
Gives O_TIAL. Isn't this the indicator for SOUTH?

Thanks Bellabee. Wow! Not easy to forgive, especially when a missing letter in 4 clues is crucial to the solve. I was posting the query about the indicator for SOUTH, because elsewhere in the thread, somebody is confidently asserting that the solution for the SOUTH indicator begins with H. Does this mean they have cocked the whole thing up? I hope not. BTW, in which of the clues I posted is there a "deliberate" typo, "square" or "Fly-trap"?
turast
If you re-read the post of haggis you will see that my reference to H was in connection
with the 11 letter word for the South side of the grid.
I 'confidently asserted' it because it was correct, and I believe you were at fault by assuming I meant the 'South' indicator.
I'm glad you managed to complete the puzzle which was a tricky one.
Cheers K

turast - i was giving haggis further hints to the 2 eleven letter words having understood correctly kayakaminas post - .my reference to a deliberate typo was to do with another of the dropped N S E W clues which just happened to be one of those that you noticed had a spelling mistake in it. i don't think there were any normal clues where solving was hampered by accidental spelling errors [and i don't think there were any misleading hints] glad you got there in the end though, cheers.
