I'm stuck on two

I'm sure this should be grin from Lohengrin?
21 down Sisters whose origin is in old Scandinavian largely (5) N _ R _ S
is the answer noris (I in nors(e) ?) and if so why?
any help appreciated!

Preposterous can mean (rarely) "...inverted...having or putting the last first..."

So 'Grin' should be ok, though it's an odd clue to my mind?..

Perhaps someone else can parse it better for you

Think GRIN is fron RING (following Lie-in King) rather than Lohengrin.
