Cloot(3) As an ignorant Ulsterman unfamiliar with the idiosyncracies of the Scottish vernacular I have R?G so far, but what I don't have is the faintest idea what the answer might be.

Steamed pudding full of raisins and sultanas boiled in a cloth or cloot.
It has a thick skin which, like marmite, people either love or hate...and sometimes there were sixpences hidden in it...the dumpling, not the skin, I mean.
