Thanks and apologies. I think the 13th must be E in the second word? 34d was - Previously crumble dry leaves in cooking pan FRIER/FRYER

The second letter of the second word is an E. And it's FRIER (Fritter = to break into fragments (obsolete), less TT (teetotal, dry) )

I've come to a brick wall - the inaccessible cell and how to shade it?
I've got the seven horizontal blocks (and what they mean), I've got the two symmetrical local inhabitants and I know the overall location gleaned from the misprints. I can see no hints as to how to shade the final cell and would appreciate a gentle clue which might help me. Thanks

I thought about a natural landmark yesterday morning (with three vowels the same) but it doesn't actually feature in the centre of the location and there doesn't seem to be any justification for that being a unique solution

It was all I could come up with - it's inaccessible, it's described as being 'in the southern part of...in central...' and looked sort of centralish on the map I saw!

I know - it doesn't seem ideal, but I couldn't come up with anything else that worked, there's not a lot we can do with one little square. Re the shading, I went with 'its distinctive...colouring, most notably at sunset'.

Don't worry, you'll probably still be correct. But your natural landmark is too specific. The shaded part is a charade for a three word phrase. And the location is significant.

To clarify, the first word of the phrase is a definite article (it can also be a two word phrase omitting it)

Hi and thanks for your response. You say the shading will probably be correct - I followed 'Neveracrossword's2 advice. However I don't like to leave things unresolved and need to think some more about the 3 word charade. Should I be looking at surrounding cells?
By the way, JMW Turner (number 1) is one of my favourite artists.

No, but consider the region where your landmark is located (the shading colour is one of the three words).

I'll change my plans. I just googled the attraction with the colour and came up with a very satisfactory solution. However, the three word phrase is totally new to me. You live and learn every day. Thanks for your help.
