Hello
I've got the grid filled in.
From earlier posts I have found out that 21 & 25 across are the first two names of the person I need.
With 6D & 7D I think I've got the correct extra word
With 24D & 35D I have 'S' & 'G' which I presume are right.
So, for me, I'm progressing well!
But I can't find the author of the saying or the saying.
Could some nice person give me a hint or two?
Thanks in advance
Neveracrossword
Thanks for replying.
But? His name is 21 25 ? 6
I'm afraid I'm very confused!
6 is Trawl
Sorry I'm probably being very thick
Perhaps another hint would help & would give you 'Brownie points' !
Thank you Neveracrossword. I think I've got the right surname & the composition. Am I correct that I erase his famous work and colour the blanks in a suitable colour? (removing 2 sets of 5 letters) or am I completly on the wrong track?
Thanks for your patience!
Hello Ripper, your composition title should have numbers in it? These are relevant to the removed letters. You can tell its right from the final "oblique reference" - clever grid I thought!
Thanks for your reply Negomi
I think I've got the wrong end of the stick!
I've removed the grid entries with the relevant numbers of the composition (2 X 5 letters) but I can't see the oblique reference, so I'm thinking I've removed the wrong letters.
Any little would be appreciated!
Negomi, You must be getting fed up with me!
I too have a number-word-number-word but only 29 letters, so I'm still sure I'm doing something wrong.
When I finally crack this I'll be celebrating, I'm getting really frustrated!
