26a. Bronze is in the month, but not for long.

inst means this month I recall
TAN- bronze
inst = current month tan = bronze INStanT
in the month is inst and bronze is tan

many thanks - I see it now
tan is the bronze bit and "inst" means current month, especially in old-fashioned legal letters, i.e "I refer to your letter of 12th inst"
