On this cold January evening, Nungate Towers has again thrown open its doors to all Mad Over Fifties, and a warm welcome awaits within.
Tonight's hot plate special a warming beef casserole with dumplings, and on the pudding trolley apple crumble and custard, and of course the customary volly vonts and horses doovers are also be available.
In addition to their usual madrigals and fugues the Minstrels will be giving their take on Banarama's greatest hits! As we are still waiting for ice to form on the lake tonight's scheduled ice gala has been postponed and instead we have installed a small fun fair in the ballroom, with stalls and a carousel (wasn't easy getting that through the doors!)
Tonight's tailcock, "the Cats Pyjamas" is guaranteed to knock your socks off!
The Tapster has been working on it all week, and he has again set up a bar in the Great Hall.
I have no offerings for tonight's rofl as I have been dashing back and forth to hospital all week so I trust you will forgive me.
Welcome to all who dare enter these portals this evening

Ok kiddo, here's what you do. You find your marbles and to put them in a jar by the telly then you'll always know where they are! (jars can be found in that cupboard under the stairs in a box...)
they can also be found in a box in my bathroom
I wouldn't say I was in love - smitten possibly

I've always thought Canada might be a trifle cold for living - looks a magnificent country nonetheless - I just like warm climates...
Oh seeing the reminders thread below, did you see the 21-12 last contribution, nungate....the verse on the Xmas ball.....just in case you didn't, here we are again:

"The dance at Nungate Towers, a waltz jazzed up slowed
out of time, the Minstrels real easy is in three played free
and so all the time in the AB world
last dance for the MoFC it's the last dance at Nungate’s Christmas ball
Carol tailcocks for the visitors made by Igor on a frenzied spree
chains a sparkling and the Lady A Christmas tree
baubles things like favourite things on groaning tables
like mince pies.

Once the ball is over, coaches and broomsticks to their country piles
waiting, the MoFCers will be counting their Ibuprofen pills
All the MoFCers are chuckling because excelsior asked QoM "do I repeat
myself" and she said "but very well" and now they're dancing
because they've lost count and
don't care and because it's the last
dance and excelsior’s dancing
laughing and dancing with the oh-so-divine Queen of Mean.

Once more the Season approaches, Nungate’s Noel ball closes
Frocks crumpled, discarded on the floor,
Belle’s riffle bags, mysterious and strange in contents
Polar bear, sibs and Daisy, even slooppy gone,
Others meander in and out, trays of emerging bonbons
excelsior’s continues the dancing
laughing and dancing with the oh-so-divine Queen of Mean."
chilly in winter, Montreal got down to -32C in town one night.............
Ok the Seychelles it is then nungate.
