Mad Over Fifties Club

On this cold January evening, Nungate Towers has again thrown open its doors to all Mad Over Fifties, and a warm welcome awaits within.
Tonight's hot plate special a warming beef casserole with dumplings, and on the pudding trolley apple crumble and custard, and of course the customary volly vonts and horses doovers are also be available.
In addition to their usual madrigals and fugues the Minstrels will be giving their take on Banarama's greatest hits! As we are still waiting for ice to form on the lake tonight's scheduled ice gala has been postponed and instead we have installed a small fun fair in the ballroom, with stalls and a carousel (wasn't easy getting that through the doors!)
Tonight's tailcock, "the Cats Pyjamas" is guaranteed to knock your socks off!
The Tapster has been working on it all week, and he has again set up a bar in the Great Hall.
I have no offerings for tonight's rofl as I have been dashing back and forth to hospital all week so I trust you will forgive me.
Welcome to all who dare enter these portals this evening

Hello Tony, and welcome. It wasn't me who was taken to hospital, it was my mum, last Sunday, though I did get a ride in the ambulance - lights and sirens as well, she's still there I'm afraid and we've all been in a tizz going to and from the hospital, I wasn't able to go with Queenie when she had her laser treatment on Monday as mum's hospital wanted me with her.
Good evening all. I hope I can be excused from the limbo dancing contest for medical reasons,
For the rofl I would like to offer:
Teach Yourself the Accordian (chapters 1-3 missing)
A large box of flat AA batteries
A photocopy of a Jamie Oliver cookbook with the last 2" of the side of each page missing (would suit a very inventive cook)
Half of a 1955 Isle of Man TT races sticker

You know Mrs O I have absolutely no idea who is doing what at the fair. It was a last minute "thing" as we had hoped the lake would have frozen over with all this Baltic weather we have been promised. Things around the Towers have slipped a bit this week as I have been dashing hither and thither trying to be "there" for my mum and also "my lot" and standards have slipped at the Towers, however I shall get on the case and roust the staff out of their torpor...........
So glad to see you here Mrs. O. Please be careful not to drop your stitches.
Tony, you know what you can do with your ticket. Think I might have to take up tatting, a more seemly occupation for slightly older lady than supporting a football team who seem to need a kick up their own nether regions. gulp, sob

Good evening to all and the sundry
what brings the riffle:
for your library?
one book of Shelley or is that one bottle of sherry?
one book of Byron or is that a biro?
one book of Yeats or is that marmite?
one book of Poe or is that JaneDoe?
one book of Frost or is that on Nungate Towers front lawn?
one book of Blake or is that a broken rake?
one book of Sitwell - I hope the Towers loos are strong enough.
one book of Pope - I hear Venator is coming tonight?
one book of Larkin around
one book of Austen - or how to repair it, for Tony?
one book of Browning - now would you trust mooney with a machine-gun?
one book of Chaucer - sorry no cup
one book of Dryden - I'm afraid sibs and I need non-alchie tailcocks
one book of Guest - or is that Gness's finest musings
one book of Whitby - a landslide of a book.
Happy Reading to y'all.
