The answer to 15a in the current Guardian Prize (BESHREW as an anagram of HEBREWS) suggests that there are ten other books of the Bible shuffled in this way. I have caught ACTS (twice), DANIEL (twice), ESTHER, ROMANS (twice), and RUTH. What am I missing?
It strikes me that this is an odd use of a theme for a Guardian crossword, in that it it is purely a bonus; none of the clues other than 15a requires the Biblical connection for their solution.
Thanks! Not exactly the two books of the Bible that come soonest to mind! I am still amazed, though, that he gave secondary wordplay to those ten clues. I'll be interested to see what the blogger on FifteenSquared has to say about it next week.
