26 down Without rooms for treating sick pupils ?A?S - totally baffled, must be missing something - have tried WA(R)DS and (Sick) BAYS - just dont get it! Enlightenment please!

Thank you Dannyk13 - I was thinking of the other kind of pupil!
I've seen this answered as Sans - it means 'without' and 'sans' are rooms for treating sick pupils.
An earlier thread had two possible answers WADS and SANS (without)
Yes, all boarding school stories are riddled with references to sick pupils being in the 'san' (sanatorium), so without = SANS and those rooms = SANS also.
