Many thanks, pixie373. It really is a bit mind-bending to arrive at that solution so well done! This week`s crossword has several solutions where the result does not quite seem to fit the clue but probably my reasoning is not quite up to the mark.

Thanks, pixie373. I,m afraid I have already sealed up my crossword grid for the post,otherwise I would accept your offer to explain the other "dodgy" solutions. I certainly appreciated your explanation of the solution "origins".
