21. Locoed, went mad, crazy. Sophomore is 'coed' but I'm not sure how to parse it all!
23. Sazes, stringed instruments - the 'z' isn't in the wordplay, the other letters are from SpAhEes.

Thank you SO much Neveracrossword, I'd thought of locoed but had never heard of a saze!
Happy to help.
L is the letter not referenced in the wordplay, while the O is short-hand for "Irish descendant", as in O'Driscoll etc.
Can anyone parse 18A please?
Hi Boreas

18A . Nostalgic view = backward , "Final " as in after all deductions , and.
" Tuck in " with the "K" excluded.

I have a similar problem with the parsing of 13A.
Thanks kobnut. Wish I could help with parsing 13A but can't. I found this weeks theme etc easy, but the clues have been very difficult. Could guess answers from defi itions an cross checked letters, but not understood construction even then.
MANTO is an anagram ("put right") of TOMAN an old coin worth 10,000 dinars (apparently)
Thanks Gregsdad.
