My own childhood included a different adventurous group by the same author -- not finished this one, but most of the PDMs have come. Might try to solve the rest later on today.

Hello everyone
Have solved the clues that had the extra letter, the adventurous group became obvious. Started doing the jigsaw that was necessary for the answers to the asterisked clues and had the PDM of the two symmetrically placed areas, which helped no end wiith the rest of the jigsaw! I don't remember reading the books however. Weather has turned much colder here on the South Coast, not pleasant at all. It might be neccessary to have more than one preprandial Glenmorangie!

Good afternoon, haven't had a chance to start this one yet but was interested in the suggestion of the theme. Am still finishing off last week's, a couple in the NE corner are being irritatingly elusive.

A definite favourite and a nicely constructed puzzle to occupy a rather dull afternoon (weather-wise).

Ginger Mog & I have had a good go at this one....and....yippee, it's my old favourites from so many years ago I can hardly remember! I had the whole set and I think a dozen or so are still in the attic! Just a bit of shuffling in the centre and then the staring starts.
Weather here very mild with just enough wind to dry the washing to just over airing standard which has to be good. Himself's birthday yesterday so there is an excellent Polish (in a very weird bottle) vodka he has been given that I am going to have to beg a taste of in the not too distant......

Great puzzle but 7 down gives me huge problem , cannot make head or tail of oothe clue Any hints or suggestions would be very helpful. I have six of the letters but the other two ( one which must be an i or O doesnt seemto create any suitable word
