After a month being treated as if I was a 7 year old by my Irish nana, I am back! I struggled ( not match fit?) but I think I am nearly there. But there are three clues where I am fairly sure of the answer but I can't fully see why ( as usual!). Could someone help me please?
" promotion of publicly funded entertainment starting three months early. " I think the answer is marketing.
" unwelcome blow for man that may be crowned" Draught?
" Jesus follower uplifted youth with spirited stuff, just past two o'clock. " I am confident that the answer is Mary Magdalene.
You will see that each answer fits the definition but I can't work out the rest.
And finally one where, to my shame, I cannot work out the answer despite having three of the five letters!
" prudish damage to comment, deleting articles" I have m?m?y.
Hi Steven - good to see you again - nanas are like that :-)
3d Marketing - three months *later* becomes 'Jun-keting'
24a Draught - a man in the game could become a king
10d Mary Magdalene - 'lad gamy ram' (up) + 'e(ast) n(orth) e(ast)' (just past 2 o'clock)
15a Mimsy - 'maim say' (delete articles; a's)
Thank you so much to all three of you. I hope to move up to Championship level this year but I shall continue to need the guidance of you Premiership people for a good while yet!
Thanks also for the message, Lie-in King. I suppose they are and she is lovely but.....
Thanks for the advice, Mamalynne. She IS kind and lovely but, even more than SWMBO, rules with a rod of iron. And I don't think she even considers it a possibility that males grow up, at least a bit.
And thanks for the footy quote Lie-in King. He sounds like yet another England manager for whom English is tricky! But, as they don't entertain us with the football, let's say thank you to them making us laugh....
