Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

No specific question, I'm giving this crossword a stab for the first time but am in need of some serious help or advice, I have about half of the answers but can't site them yet as it is a grid with no numbers. However it is obvious I have to remove some letters from 16 answers before they will fit the spaces. The clue to this removal is stateless, and the crossword theme is enigma variations, so is this anything to do with Elgar, American states, the letters ST or states as in its meaning of says. A gentle nudge [ or rather a violent push] may help. Thanks.

No it's not Elgar or anything related. Enigmatic Variations is the 'name' of the crossword.

Stateless is an anagram - and the word still ends in Less! If this doesn't help you much, come back.

Thanks, I have tried tasteless and applied it unsuccessfully to epithalamium, eurosceptic and Harris Tweed . Perhaps my brain isn't cryptic enough, I may have to wait for the printed solution and give myself a tutorial.

Tasteless means you have to remove the tastes (anagrams of tastes) within the words that are too long for the grid. Eurosceptic has 'sour' in it, Harris Tweed had 'sweet' in it and so on - there are five recognised tastes. For Eurosceptic, you'd have Eceptic to put in the grid, for Harris Tweed you'd have Harrid.
