Would anyone know a word for Corkscrew with seven letters which are E?U?I?R now I’m almost sure these letters are right but can’t come up with en answer
Mamyalynne - Chambers gives -'something which educes ... (which earlier gives) 'draws out'.
I know it's a bit of a stretch but in the absence of anything better it's worth a shot.
Still not convinced Prof,I think that the drawing out in the definition refers more to drawing out in formation etc rather than drawing out a cork.Just my opinion.
I think the earlier definitions 'to draw out - to extract' are physical and have been used figuratively regarding the later meaning 'to elicit' but that's just my opinion too.
