18a Closure of a parliament for holidays (6) B?c?s?

I thought the answer would be Recess but the B is from 18d Saint buried in
Co. Kildare ~ Brigid
Can only think it is a printing error OR is there an Irish name for 18a
I know Shay and other employers are working from home, so don't want
to email.
Thanking you

I'd have to agree that there's an error. Both "recess" & "Brigid" appear correct - at least, I can't see a "St R?????" in Kildare, nor an alternative for "recess" that would fit.
There is a Saint Rathnat of Kildare bu don't know if he is buried there.

Danny - I was sticking with the 6-letter pattern

Thank you my friends, Rathnat would not fit.

But this reminds me of a crossword they printed many
years ago the Question was Lady Diane Spencers home
which was/is Althrop (7) but the just had 5 space, I emailed
them and they told me just to fit the letters around the
other clue ??? and yes someone did win NOT me lol
but this cannot be done with the first letter being B.
Just might send them an e-mail. Shall let you know the
outcome.

Thank you, hope you have a pleasant day
Keep safe.

Thank you Clare, it'll be interesting to hear their response - stay well yourself :-)
Thanks Clare. I will,be interested in knowing what you find out.
L-i k, I know that the letter pattern does not fit but as we are thinking of a setter's error I thought it I would suggest it. :-)
Ah, fair enough :-)
Question Author
I e-mailed and yes as I thought, it was a misprint and you
can still enter.
I put Brigid for 18d & enclosed a post it with 18a Recess.
I possibly have wasted £1.42 postage.
Thanks to my friends here for your help.
lol ***** shall let you know if I won, but don't hold your
breath *** lol

Clare
Good luck, Clare. :-)
