For one, I certainly don't need any help with this crossword!
You, like Grumpy may call the setter illogical or OTT or whatever, but the fact is that he, the setter simply does not know whether Matakari enters his competition or not.
You may be 'sure' that Matakari would do this puzzle even if there were no prize, and yet EVERY crossword he asks for help with IS a prize crossword, there is no getting away from that fact.
I say it again, all Matakari has to do to stop all this 'aggravation' as you call it, is to let the setter know that he does not enter the competition. Very, very simple.
