This theme was unknown to me as it is very specifically a London one. But I have the 13 letters and how they are connected to 6 unclueds.
Problems I have is with 11d and 22a.
Chambers gives me a 6 letter answer to 11d. Not 7.
The 6 letter answer screws up last letter of 22a, which is I.
Where am I going wrong?

Hi Hankir. 11d is Whilere (i L in where)

Chambers Word Wizard gives a 7 letter word for 11 down confirmed in the Dictionary. 22 across ends E (alternative spelling)

OMG. Spent far too long on 25,26 and 27. (about an hour and a half on them 3 alone) Then the penny dropped.

Not my neck of the woods, So struggled on the end game.

Klazo,glad you got there! I sometimes prefer unknown themes, more interesting at times.
Matakari, it's just as well that you have tackled so many Lavatch puzzles. Remind yourself that you're a veteran!

Thanks NAC. I've worked down the smoke on and off most my life. Really wouldn't have said 1A was one of the themewords. But Google proved me wrong. And I've never heard of 7A (So that took some searching).
Thoroughly enjoyed it though.
Looking forward to the EYE tomorrow. :-)
