I am not finding this easy putting anagrams into the puzzle, as this is something I've never come across before . But I have only 13d to do so maybe a clue to 12a may help me. I have A?OO? Bill eating corn in earnest.

My last query I hope. I have a proper word for 13d (not anagram) or have I made an error ?

13d has an anagram to a theme word.
Also be careful at 15d as it is a theme word and anagrams into another word. I suspect many have made an error here as to obvious chices could fit. But neither do. There is another option

Ps. Freyabee, It's a themeword I have never heard of before. So look for an odd anagram. You just might have it, but don't realise it.

Good news Tilly. Hope you enjoyed this one as much as me. I thought it was well constructed with only one beef at 40a (I thought kid was doing double duty) Maybe if Lavatch had left out the apostrophe, It might have worked better denoting 2 x kids.

Update on brain....
The clue you gave me anagrams into the original real word I already had which fits perfectly into to 13d. I did not really enjoy this puzzle, but glad you did. We all think on different levels. Thank you again :)
