Hi all,

Before I start this weeks crossword I need some closure on last weeks! I got 3 to go and I think I know the answers but would welcome some help with the wordplay if someone could be so kind.

14a) Fellow sentinel keeps clubs for protection of train (10)
_ O _ C _ T _ H _ R

Can't get away from DOGCATCHER

24a) Oxymoronic region where letter has dash in it (7)
Z _ E _ A _ _

ZEELAND?

21d) Gather from leader in European countries (6)
D _ _ _C _

I'm thinking DEDUCE.

Thanks in advance for any help.

14a) cowcatcher (co-watcher = fellow sentinel with c (clubs inside)
24a ) Zeeland (zed containg elan)
21d) Deduce (de = from(French)) (duce - leader(italian))
COWCATCHER Co-watcher around C (clubs)
ZEELAND- Zee=sea. This with LAND is an oxymoron,ie opposite in meaning
I think I put DEDUCE but can't remember why?
