How sure are you about the crossing letters? The only word that seems to fit your pattern is Haggai, the "minor prophet" of the Old Testament. (Do they only give minor prophecies, like about next week's weather?)

Seems to be a worldwide phenomenon. No rain in St Louis for 2+ weeks now. Fortunately the Mississippi River provides plenty of water through the taps for the plants.
