According to my dictionary, sally = set off, and is also a type of acacia.
Could be sally then
Maybe hedge as in hedge funds doesn't quite fit with 'set-off'
factor30, hedge is also a possible answer. We need to get some intersecting letters (presumably from the other answer)
Ah- just looked up HEDGE and a synonym was OFFSET which seems to fit with SET OFF.
So HEDGE could be right
