Could somebody please explain 15A? I have two possible answers, either of which would complete the grid consistently, but I can't explain either of them.

answers?

Hi RossR.

The clue was "Hebrew reading's a bit of a gimmick, right?", and the answer is k'ri, or kri, which is a marginal reading in the Hebrew Bible. It's hidden in the last two words of the clue.

As I recall the second letter was one of the five clashes in the grid, and you needed to enter an O to give KOI intersecting with ECTODERM. The R which was thus discarded was the third letter of the thematic item of clothing.

Thanks very much turnerjmw! I had been wondering whether the answer was ROI with that R swapped out - it doesn't make any difference to the grid and everything would end up as a word, but the clue was just impenetrable for me.
