UK Placenames quiz. is anyone interested ?

the above quiz is called placenames and the answers have the number of letters in brackets. since friday i have asked if any one can help me! is it that the quiz is far to difficult to answer or arn't people bothered. an explanation from someone would help,me sorry if i have got it completely wrong but i feel that i am being completely ignored.

I will give the clues once more but a reply would be nice even to say do not know.
2. Nora did not know which way to turn. (7)
8. The cars were two different makes (7)
11. Listen and you woud hear the burn (7)
15. They asked for gin but the hotel had none. (5)
24. Aberdeen is far from the river Avon. (8)
if it would help anyone , one of the clues is -Carl stayed on the Isle of Skye (8)- answer is Carlisle.

Hi guille. Usually if no-one replies it's because they don't know the answers. No-one ever leaves a 'sorry, I don't know' on here. It's nothing personal, it's just how this place works. I'll have a think about your clues :)

It appears that the "answer" is made up from words or parts thereof in the clue, seemingly at random.

That is what is said at the top of the quiz form, as most are now published here, I shall refrain from saying any more.

It is 2 words in the clue, try elimination using google or an atlas, you have plenty of time.
